Adopt a Barrel

The City of Belington is looking for people interested in adopting a barrel on the sidewalks to put flowers in and water through the summer months. If interested please contact myself, Adam Poling, or message the Golden Rule facebook account www.facebook.com/groups/goldenrulebuilding/. Please provide an email, phone number, number of barrels, and location for the barrel, if you have a preference.

Learn tree grafting at the Golden Rule Marketplace.

We are going to hold a grafting workshop at the Golden Rule (and have the marketplace open) on March 25. The grafting class is taught by David Proudfoot, costs $35, and takes place from 1-3 pm. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Class space is limited. Email thegoldenrulewv@gmail.com with questions and to reserve your spot.

The Golden Rule Marketplace in Belington is hosting a grafting workshop on Saturday, March 25.

The class will be taught by David Proudfoot, of the Talbott Community. David is a member of the Backyard Fruit Growers Association and has been teaching grafting for many years. He and his wife Cindy grow beautiful gardens and orchards on their farm and have Pick Your Own blueberries in the summer.

At the Grafting Class on March 25th, you will learn about how and why grafting is done, you will pick a variety of heritage apples or pears, and through demonstration and instruction, you will graft your own tree to take home with you to plant.
